In this week’s program Cody Weddle interviews Juan Sebastian Barragan, a journalist with the Agencia Prensa Rural, a Colombian news agency specializing in information about and of interest to that country’s peasant farmer or campesino movement. Agencia Prensa Rural produces videos, has a web page, and a print publication. In the interview, Barragan discusses the campesino movement in Colombia, the importance of giving voice to and publicizing its struggles, and the role of the mass media.
